Built by merchants,
for merchants
SyncTec started as a weekend project by two Shopify store owners who were tired of the same manual, error-prone process every time they updated a product. It became a company when other merchants started asking for access.
In 2023, Nasser was running five Shopify stores — five retail storefronts and a wholesale portal. Every product update meant logging into each store individually and making the same changes by hand. Variants, images, descriptions — all of it.
He reached out to Kareem, who he'd worked with years earlier, and described the problem. He'd seen the same thing from the agency side: merchants with multiple stores had no good tooling for keeping product data consistent. They started building on weekends.
The first version of SyncTec pushed products between two stores in around 800 milliseconds. Nasser started using it himself, then shared it in a Shopify merchant Slack. Within a week, 40 merchants had signed up to try it.
Today SyncTec connects over 2,800 stores, has synced more than 2 million products, and runs with a team of eight people who all care deeply about the same problem.
What we believe
Merchant-first
Every decision we make is measured against one question: does this make life easier for the merchant running it? Not easier for us. For them.
Reliability over features
A slow feature list ships less often than broken syncs. We'd rather have fewer things that work perfectly than many things that occasionally don't.
Honesty by default
We tell you when something went wrong, why it happened, and what to do about it. No silent failures. No opaque errors. No blame-shifting.
Built in public
Our roadmap is public. Our pricing is transparent. We write about what we're learning. We think openness makes better products.
The team
Remote-first. Currently 8 people across 5 countries.
Former Shopify merchant who ran five stores and spent too many nights manually updating product listings across all of them.
Previously led platform engineering at a Shopify Plus agency. Built SyncTec's sync engine from scratch over two months of weekends.
Spent six years building tools for e-commerce operators at two product companies. Obsessed with making complex workflows feel obvious.
Believes the best interfaces are the ones you stop noticing. Responsible for every pixel in the SyncTec dashboard.
